Raeven's first reading
Today, I surprised mommy by reading to her (Mommy: Or rather, pretending to read from words she memorised from school).

I didn't too well at first because she couldn't understand what I was saying. It sounded like:

"Uncle Waddle stepped and the boat and started to blow another tube on his pipe."

Of course, that wasn't what I said. I was saying:

"Uncle Waldo stepped in the boat and started to blow another tune on his pipe."

Here's a little video of what mommy says is the first time I actually said (or read, if you like) an entire sentence properly (or as properly as I canlah).

Finally, I am sleeping by myself

For three nights since Sunday, I have been sleeping by myself, without anyone accompanying me from the beginning.

And it's all thanks to Mommy's devious methods.

On Sunday, she bought me some new Doctor's Toys which I've been wanting for a long time. And so, I had to keep up my end of the bargain by sleeping by myself that night.

It was a little scary at first, but I asked Mommy to keep the door slightly ajar so I can still hear them outside in the hall. According to Mommy, I fell asleep in a matter of minutes.

On Monday, mommy took me for some ice cream after school. In return, I had to sleep by myself again. I'd really wanted the ice cream so I promised.

It was much better this time around, because I was pretty tired as there was PE on Monday and I didn't really nap.

Last night, even though Mommy didn't get me anything, I went to bed by myself. Mommy gave me extra hugs and kisses and I Love Yous. I gave Daddy his Big Bear Hug and then cuddled up to my favourite white pillow. Mommy played what she calls Sha-day (Mommy: Sade) music (which I really like) and Daddy lit some of that nice smelling candle thing I like to watch in the dark.

Actually, it's kind of nice, lying there in the dark, watching the flame of the fragrant candle. Because I know before long, it will be morning, and Mommy and Daddy will be there when I wake up, ready with their hugs and kisses.

I took Nate with me. See, there he is, peeping from my bag!

Me in my school uniform!
Went to school today!

Mommy and daddy took me to school today.

At first, it was okay. But my leg hurt from the mozzie bites and well, it just got a little scary because all the other kids seemed to know what they were doing but I didn't.

In the end, I had to have Mommy and Daddy.

Yes, I cried.

We read some books, had a bit to eat. Teacher told us a story that had giraffes and lions and tigers. I totally named all the animals she was showing!

We also sang some songs and played some games. Today was Exercise Day as well.

After school, Mommy and Daddy took me for some ice cream.
They said I can have ice cream if I'm good tomorrow at school.

Maybe.

GOING TO SCHOOL SOON

Mommy and Daddy asked me the other day if I would like to go to school. I said okay. It would be nice to go to school, to make friends and read books.

The school I'm going to is a place called P&J. No, not PB&J, like one of my favourite cartoons, but P&J! It is a big place with lots of other children and colourful walls and stairs and things hanging from the ceilings.

There's even a horse like one of those from the megoriround (mom's translation: merry-go-round)!

It is a little scary though, because some of the kids are quite loud. But they have a lot of books and toys there that I like.

Mommy tells me that I'll be going to school very soon, and that she'll buy me a new bag for that. I wonder why...
