I STOOD FOR 5 SECONDS!

I don't know how I did it but I did it! I was just playing around Yeh Yeh's front door again, although everyone tells me not to go there because of something called "dirty" but it's the best spot in the house!

Anyway, Aunty Janice came (I like her, she has very long hair I like to pull!) and we were just hanging out at the glass door, and I just - stood! Everyone made such a fuss about that, because I had never stood on my own for more than three seconds :).

Well, mommy and daddy missed it. Maybe I will be able to do that again, use these two things mommy calls "feet" and "toes".

Mommy is sending me to bed earlier each day. It's so annoying! Well, as long as she sleeps with me. She keeps putting me down when she thinks I'm asleep. I make a ruckus so she knows that I know! Well, until I'm REALLY asleep.

Anyway, it's time to sleep again. See you soon!

CRANKY GIRL

CRANKY GIRL

I'm not sure why but I don't feel myself today. Everything, the universe, my feet, my hair, seems irritating and irritated. I guess I just need to sleep more but there are just SO many things to see and do! I hope Mah Mah and Yeh Yeh don't get too cross with me with all my whims.

Today Mommy and Daddy were late in bringing me to SS2. I played all morning with my books. One of them, a gift from Godma Hazel, has a reflective surface and I can see my face on it! That's my favourite toy so far. And then of course there's my Peekaboo book which I absolutely love, especially when Daddy reads to me from it. The baby inside is so cute, hiding behind all those flaps.

We also watched a bit of MTV this morning. The colours and oftentimes deafening noise is very strange, but interesting.

Yeh Yeh and Mah Mah sent me home today. I'm quite tired, having only napped once. And as I said, cranky. Mommy cooed me to sleep soon after....well, gnite!

TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF MY LIFE

TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF MY LIFE

Mommy made this blog for me today because she thought that I'd like to read it when I can read. That's probably about eight years down the road from now.

To introduce myself, I am Raeven Tan Hui Wen, female, born to Tan Loke Uei, a developer evangelist at Microsoft Malaysia, and Jennifer Tai, a freelance writer. I just turned one on 6 June 2003 - pictures of my first birthday party are here, at mommy's blog. Mommy will put some here when she has time.

So,...what do I do? Well, most of the day, I spend at Grandma and Grandpa's house in SS2. I have an activity table with all these colourful dials and levers and sounds, and even something called a "choo-choo train" that spins round and round. I also have some colourful hard chunks with round protrusions, the purpose of which still escapes me, but I'll figure it out soon I guess.

My favourite activity of the day, though, is getting around in the house, opening drawers, playing with Grandma and Grandpa's things, such as these things they put on their face near their eyes, which are pretty because you can see through them! But they don't really like it when I grab that.

I also like to climb stairs, which I think I'm very good at. And just yesterday, I stood on my own for 5 seconds! Mah-mah and Yeh-yeh were so thrilled, telling Mommy and Daddy when they came to get me yesterday evening. So standing makes them happy. Hmm...I could do that.

Anyway, better sign off now. Mommy just gave me some milk biscuits and I'm just gonna go flip these things mommy call books. I have PLENTY of those.

Talk to you soon!
